About

Research shows  that children without to high quality education will experience earning and quality of life challenges over the course of their lives. Like many cities in America, Baltimore has not consistently provided children access to strong educational opportunities.

The Baltimore Next Generation Investing Event launched in the fall of 2009 with the goal of raising money to support underserved children and their families seeking high quality education. Every year, this premier event hosts 4 highly respected equity portfolio managers who share their top stock picks with guests.

Since then, Baltimore’s Next Generation Investing Event has distributed over $1.7 million to support four local organizations that focus on providing educational resources for Baltimore’s children: Children’s Scholarship Fund Baltimore, KIPP Baltimore, Next One Up, and Southwest Baltimore Charter School.

Annually, over 150 members of Baltimore’s financial services community and other supporters attend this “can’t miss event."

According to the event co-founders, Christy and Matt Wyskiel, “irrespective of zip code, children in Baltimore should have access to an excellent education. Data shows that by giving leaders autonomy (like through charter schools), reinforcing parent and child choice, and putting outstanding talent in the classroom, these initiatives all move the needle by providing better outcomes for children. It is our long term goal to raise awareness and funds for more efforts that meaningfully change the lives of children in Baltimore. And we continue to be delighted with the level of interest and momentum in the event after more than a decade.”

The Next Generation Investing Event Board of Directors pays 100 percent of the event’s administration costs and your donations and ticket purchases go directly to the four organizations we support.
