Steve Galbraith is a partner of Maverick Capital, a registered investment
advisor managing private investment funds exclusively for qualified investors.
With $12 billion under management and offices in New York, London, Hong Kong,
San Francisco and Dallas, Maverick has long been known as one of the largest and
most consistently successful hedge funds. Prior to joining Maverick in 2004,
Steve spent four years at Morgan Stanley, serving as Chief Investment Officer,
leading the firm’s strategy effort. His work was consistently recognized in
various Wall Street analyst polls, including a No. 1 ranking in the
Institutional Investor All America Research Team poll in 2002 and 2003. Before
joining Morgan Stanley, he was a partner at Sanford Bernstein. Prior to joining
Bernstein, he spent time with Chase Manhattan working in various locations
including the U.K., Hong Kong, Latin America and New York. For the past decade,
Steve has also been an adjunct professor at Columbia University Business School,
where he teaches securities analysis. Steve serves on the Board of Trustees of
Tufts University, the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia and the
Darien Public Library and the Board of Directors of the Harlem Success Academy,
Narragansett Brewing Company and Pzena Investment Management. He received his BA
(summa cum laude) from Tufts University in 1985, where he was elected to Phi
Beta Kappa.
Dennis Lynch joined Morgan Stanley Investment
Management in 1998 and has 16 years of investment experience. He is the team
leader for Growth investing overseeing approximately $16 billion in small, mid,
large & multi cap portfolios. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he worked as a
sell side analyst for JP Morgan Securities. Dennis received a BA from Hamilton
College in Political Science and an MBA, with honors, from Columbia University
in Finance. When he is not searching for the next great investing idea, he
enjoys watching the Steelers pound the Ravens.
Bill Miller, CFA is the Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Legg
Mason Capital Management. He also currently serves as the portfolio manager for
the Value Trust and Opportunity Trust mutual funds. Mr. Miller assumed overall
responsibility for the equity funds management area of Legg Mason in late 1990.
Prior to this time, he co-managed (with Ernie Kiehne) the Legg Mason Value Trust
from its inception in 1982. He was the director of research of Legg Mason from
October 1981 through June 1985. He earned his economics degree from Washington
and Lee University where he graduated with honors in 1972. Subsequent to
graduation, he served as a military intelligence officer overseas and then
pursued graduate studies in philosophy in the PhD program at The Johns Hopkins
University. Prior to joining Legg Mason in 1981, he served as treasurer of the
J.E. Baker Company, a major manufacturer of products for the steel and cement
industries. Bill received his CFA designation in 1986. Mr. Miller currently
serves on the Board of Trustees of the Santa Fe Institute, one of the world’s
leading scientific research laboratories, which conducts multi-disciplinary
research in complex systems theory. Over the years, Mr. Miller and his team have
received numerous accolades for their management record and distinct style,
which focuses on a detailed understanding of businesses and their intrinsic
value. Mr. Miller was ranked among the top 30 most influential people in
investing when he was named a member of the "Power 30" bySmartMoney. He was also
named by Money magazine as "The Greatest Money Manager of the 1990's" and named
Morningstar's 1998 "Domestic Equity Manager of the Year."1 In 1999, he was
selected as the "Fund Manager of the Decade" by Morningstar.com.¹ Also in 1999,
Barron’s named him to its All-Century Investment Team and BusinessWeek called
him one of the “Heroes of Value Investing."
Brian C. Rogers is Chairman of the Board and Chief Investment Officer of
T. Rowe Price Group. Brian manages several of the firm's major separate account
portfolios and also serves as President and Chairman of the Investment Advisory
Committee of the $21 billion Equity Income Fund. Brian has 31 years investment
experience, 28 of which have been at T. Rowe Price. Based in Baltimore,
Maryland, T. Rowe Price Group and its affiliates serve as investment adviser to
more than 450 separate and commingled institutional accounts and more than 80
stock, bond, and money market funds. The company's international investment arm,
T. Rowe Price International, is headquartered in London and has offices in
Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, Paris, and Singapore. As of March 31, 2010, T. Rowe
Price had $419 billion under management. Mr. Rogers is a member of the John
Hopkins Board of Trustees, and chairs its investment committee. In addition, he
is the Chairman of the Archdiocese of Baltimore's Independent Review Board. He
is also a board member of the Greater Baltimore Committee and a member of the
investment committee for Vanderbilt University. He has served on the boards at
Gilman School and Roland Park Country School. Mr. Rogers earned an A.B. in
Economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Harvard Business
School. He is accredited as a Chartered Financial Analyst and as a Chartered
Investment Counselor.
